Description

Pummelo fruit, sometimes spelled Pomelo, are known for their enormous size. Known as Citrus Maxima, its the largest citrus fruit there is. The bright pink flesh is as beautiful as it is tasty. It tastes similar to a grapefruit, but a little less bitter.

The Pummelo Fruit is a delicious combination of sweet and tangy flavors, making it a refreshing delight for any palate. Not only is it a juicy treat, but it’s also a nutritional powerhouse, packed with vitamin C and essential nutrients.

This Pummelo tree comes in a 5 gallon nursery pot and stands between 3-4ft tall from the soil line.

When is the best time to plant a Pummelo?

You will want to plant your Pummelo tree during the early spring or late winter when the weather is mild. The timing allows the tree to establish its roots before the hotter summer months and gives it a better chance of truly thriving.

How big will a pommelo tree get?

Pomelo trees grow 24 inches (61 cm.) per season and can live from 50-150 years and reach a height of 25 feet (7.5 m.). They are Verticillium resistant, but susceptible to the following pests and disease: Aphids

When do pommelo trees produce fruit?

Pommelo trees can be grown from seed, but bring your patience as the tree will likely not fruit for at least eight years.

Are pomelo trees cold hardy?

Pommelo and grapefruit don’t survive temperatures lower than 23°F (-5°C) and must not be subjected to freezing too long.

When should I fertilize my pomelo Tree?

If you want tasty fruit, add nutrients, apply fertilizer every 1-2 months in spring and summer and every 2-3 months in fall and winter. Use phosphorus-rich fertilizer (N-P-K = 10-30-20) during the blooming season, and a nitrogen- and potassium-rich fertilizer when fruiting (N-P-K = 18-10-20).
