Plant Facts

Lighting Requirements

Your Pothos will thrive in a spot with medium to bright indirect light; it does not like direct sunlight as this can burn its leaves. Although it can survive in low light areas it does better with more light and its variegation is more noticeable.

Watering Needs

The Golden Pothos likes its soil to be a bit moist, but not overly wet or soggy. Water it enough just to keep the soil slightly damp. Let the top inch or so of the soil dry out before watering again. It’s a hardy plant and can survive the occasional skipped watering session – so don’t fret too much if you forget! Watch out for yellow leaves – that’s an indication that your plant is getting overwatered.

Humidity

Your Golden Pothos can do fine in low humidity but likes it to be a bit on the higher side. Watch out for brown leaf tips – this could indicate that the plant is not getting enough humidity.

Temperature Preferences

They like temperatures to be on the warmer side, between 65-85 degrees Fahrenheit.

Fertilizer

Feed it once every 6 months with a general indoor plant fertilizer. This is a no-fuss plant that’s easy to take care of and you don’t need to worry about fertilizing it too much.

Pet-Friendly

Golden Pothos are slightly toxic to pets and humans. Consumption can cause irritation in the mouth and stomach along with possible nausea and vomiting.

Extra Care

Cut off any dead, damaged or sick leaves and stems as soon as you notice them. Use a pair of sterilized, sharp scissors to avoid damaging the stems. Make sure to cut the stems just above the leaf nodes. Try and trim your plant’s longer vines every few months – this will help your plant look full and thicker.
